Specialization
I specialize in representing my clients in the purchases and sales of single-family residences and income property within the cities of Michigan City, Long Beach, Michiana Shores, LaPorte, Valparaiso, Chesterton, Rolling Prairie, New Carlisle, and Westville in northwest Indiana. I keep current with all transactions in these areas, and I'm also very knowledgeable with the local community and schools.
Personal
I am a native of Michigan City, Indiana, a port city on the southern tip of Lake Michigan. Being a lifelong resident of Michigan City is a true asset to my real estate prospects because I am so familiar with the area.
I bring 18 years of legal field experience to my real estate career. A wealth of personal knowlege derived from working along many different lawyers, practicing all different areas of law, makes me a natural at negotiating. Legal paperwork has never intimidated me!
My legal background begins with working for the largest law firm in Michigan City, then onto the largest law firm in LaPorte, the county seat. My goal was to be associated with a law firm in the Loop -- Chicago that is! That goal was accomplished. Commuting daily between Michigan City and Chicago on the South Shore railroad allowed me the opportunity to find some time for myself.
Before becoming a Realtor, I was the Administrative Assistant to the President of Jaymar-Ruby, Inc., manufacturer of men's Sans-a-Belt slacks. I also was the Travel Coordinator for the Executives at Jaymar. The founder, Bud Ruby, was born and raised right here in Michigan City, Indiana. Sans-a-Belt slacks were highly visible in sponsorship commericals on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Johnny wore them in his days on and off the television screen.
In addition to my real estate business, I am the owner of two small businesses and own several investment properties. I believe excellent customer service must be a natural when serving the public. When operating any type of service oriented business on a daily basis, one must possess the eagerness to assist others, while at the same time gathering, replenishing, and focusing on all resources to achieve success for all parties involved.
On the leisure side, I find pleasure in cycling -- the thinking woman's endurance sport -- and enjoy competitively racing sailboats on Lake Michigan. When I have more time, I cruise on a sailboat. When I have less time, I jump ship onto a power boat or jetboat. I truly appreciate what the sandy shores and waters of nearby Lake Michigan have to offer. It is a wonderful source of revitalization in these highly time managed days. Conversely, I also find Lake Michigan offers an abundance of peace and tranquility.
